Overview

The Evolution of Care

The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 is a high-acuity monitor that can help you manage your patient flow by providing a dependable level of data continuity and integration across care areas. Its intuitive design allows for easy training for all staff experience levels, and upgradeability helps protect your long-term system investments.

The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 is intended for use on adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients and on one patient at a time.

The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 provides alarms, trends, snapshots and events, and calculations and can be connected to displays, printers and recording devices. The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 can be a stand-alone monitor or interfaced to other devices. It can also be connected to other monitors for bed to bed viewing and to data management software devices via a network.

Scalable and integrated for the enterprise

CARESCAPE Monitor B850 is a dependable and manageable patient monitoring platform that helps support a fluent system of clinical intelligence with data continuity. The CARESCAPE platform leverages long-term system investments through remote service system monitoring and structured upgrades.

Training

The innovative user interface is designed to allow easy training across care areas and staff experience levels

Serviceability

Remote service through InSite ExC provides updates and predictive maintenance

Protection of long-term investments

  • Combines key features of the Marquette* and Datex-Ohmeda* legacies into one platform
  • Backwards compatible with many existing Marquette and Datex-Ohmeda components
  • Structured upgrade programs can help lower costs of ownership and simplify long-term capital equipment planning

A comprehensive clinical intelligence solution

The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 combines innovative parameters and technology to address the specific needs of care areas throughout the enterprise.

  • Critical Care - Aids clinicians in the decision-making process with parameters that may help you assess readiness for ventilator weaning
  • Operating Room - Integration of the monitor, therapy, EMR, and imaging systems, as well as access to the hospital network and other patients’ information
  • PACU - Supports a variety of care processes and offers decision support and care flexibility at the point of care
  • NICU - Designed to accurately measure the unique physiology of neonatal patients
  • Emergency Room - Helps you to quickly and accurately diagnose patient conditions in the fast-paced emergency care environment

Comprehensive patient information at the bedside

Connectivity to other systems helps in getting the necessary data to the point of care. The ability to access information within and between departments can help improve nursing workflow efficiencies.

  • Information access to clinical data and data entry with patient-centric bidirectional CARESCAPE iPanel that offers access at the bedside to lab results, diagnostic images and any patient data available on the enterprise system. Using separate networking and Citrix** application, the access is fast.
  • Linkage to other storage systems (EMR via HL7**, 12-lead to MUSE*) puts data where it needs to be
  • Patient-centric access to data at bedside with CARESCAPE iPanel, which means enhanced efficiency at finding the right data for the right patient
  • Easy access to view and get alarms of the other patients in the other OR or PACU with AVOA. Anesthesiologists can view patients that are recovering in PACU or in other OR and managed by a nurse

Innovative user interface

Our user interface is aimed to be easy to learn for new users, with fast access to advanced features. Highlights of the user interface include:

Pages and profiles

  • Monitor layout can be configured based on type of procedure or patient acuity to suit workflow needs, helping increase flexibility and workflow efficiency
  • User-controlled views, from 8 to 14 waveforms and up to 22 parameter boxes, allow for flexibility and customization

Display

  • Integrated alarm light on top of the display provides a visual indication of alarm status with color and flash frequency based on IEC standards
  • Trim Knob** control and optional hard keys provide one-touch activation of key features
  • Operable with a gloved hand or other soft sterile stylus device, helping to promote effective infection control with an easy-to-clean medical grade design
  • Integrated USB ports allow for a keyboard, mouse, barcode readers, and USB remote control

Benefits

Clinical excellence

  • Specifically designed airway modules provide for complete respiratory monitoring with gas exchange measurement
  • Various parameters can help your assessment of the patient during anesthesia in the OR, and give insight to patients’ readiness for ventilator weaning in the ICU
  • Innovative algorithms aid in accurate diagnoses, including GE EK-Pro, GE DINAMAP* non-invasive blood pressure, and 12 SLTM diagnostic ECG with direct 2-way MUSE* communication
  • High-definition visualization of real-time and historic patient data, for beat-to-beat and breath-to-breath trending

Innovative technology

  • Connectivity to other devices like CARESCAPE* iPanel* and MUSE
  • Auto View on Alarm (AVOA) automatically shares high priority alarms within the care unit
  • Integration with the Aware** Gateway enables communications to EMR systems through standard HL7 protocol

Technology

The CARESCAPE Monitor B850 system is indicated for monitoring status of:

  • Hemodynamics: including ECG, ST Segment, Arrhythmia Detection, ECG Diagnostic Analysis and Measurement, Invasive Pressure, Noninvasive Blood Pressure, Pulse Oximetry, Cardiac Output, Temperature, Impedance Respiration and SvO2 (Mixed Venous Oxygen Saturation)
  • Airway Gases: Fi/Et CO2, O2, N2O and Anesthetic Agent
  • Spirometry
  • Gas Exchange: O2 Consumption (VO2), CO2 production (VCO2), energy expenditure (EE), and respiratory quotient (RQ)
