Dose Comparison

Lower patient dose with GE bone densitometry  

Compared to other x-ray procedures, the radiation dose from DXA assessments is relatively low. DXA technology requires minimal radiation to generate measurements of body composition. However, when compared to other manufacturers of DXA devices, GE Lunar DXA densitometers perform scans at a lower dose1, while still achieving higher precision2. A comparison of the technical specifications shows that Hologic** bone densitometers utilize 4 to 25 times radiation of the Prodigy* Advance.   

The bone densitometer that you use can make a difference. Although the dose of any DXA scan is relatively low, having your patients scanned on the Prodigy bone densitometer helps to minimize the amount of radiation your patients and operators are exposed to over time.
