Advanced Applications

Computed Tomography for Vascular

Computed Tomography for Vascular

Computed tomography (CT) imaging provides vital information in vascular care. More and more, you look to CT angiography to help provide the clinical data needed for a confident diagnosis. GE’s VesselIQ Xpress*, an advanced vascular analysis software package, helps makes your CT angiographic study analysis fast and efficient.

Discovery CT750 HD

Computed Tomography for Cardiology

In cardiovascular care, access to accurate, reliable clinical imaging is critical. GE's suite of cardiovascular applications gives you excellent image quality at optimized dose to help you assess, quantify and manage your patients with coronary artery disease.

Discovery CT750 HD

Computed Tomography for Pediatrics

In CT imaging, you can’t view children as small adults. They are more sensitive to radiation, and require CT solutions specifically for their growing bodies. GE’s Color-Coding for Kids, FeatherLight Protocols, and industry-leading SnapShot* Pulse cardiac imaging technologies have changed the way children are scanned.

Computed Tomography for Women’s Health

Computed tomography is a useful tool in diagnosing and fighting cancer and heart disease, the two leading causes of death for women today. GE offers advanced CT solutions to help you and your patients battle these deadly diseases.

  • In cancer care, our CT technology allows you to simulate radiation therapy, and even account for movement of the chest wall due to breathing.
  • In heart care, cardiac CT angiography is an important diagnostic tool.

Dose Management

Lower dose by design*

Nothing matters more than your patients’ well being. That’s why GE Healthcare created Lower Dose by Design — to focus on innovation, patient care, and teamwork. Lower Dose by Design combines research, training, technology, and clinical practice to achieve diagnostic image quality at optimized dose. These technologies help record and monitor the dose. We are committed to helping you deliver the highest quality patient care — today and tomorrow.

Veo*

Veo, our newest dose technology, is available as an option on Discovery CT750 HD. It is the world’s first model-based, iterative reconstruction product. By combining sophisticated algorithms and advanced computing power, Veo may enable reduction in pixel noise standard deviation. The Veo reconstruction algorithm may then allow for reduced mA or kVp in the acquisition of diagnostic images, thereby reducing the dose required.1 Also, Veo reconstruction may enable improvement in low contrast detectability and spatial resolution. It has the capability to reduce low signal artifacts generated by dense anatomy or metal implants compared to FBP.2 This exceptional technology may allow you to achieve imaging under 1mSv with profound clarity.

ASiR*

Low dose scanning historically may have raised questions related to the diagnostic quality of the resultant images. However, our industry-exclusive Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASiR) may help clinicians achieve confident diagnosis with lower dose1. ASiR, the first iterative reconstruction technology, may enable reduction in pixel noise standard deviation, and its reconstruction algorithm may allow for reduced mA in the acquisition of diagnostic images, thereby reducing the dose required.1 ASiR may also enable an improvement in LCD.1 Combine ASiR with SnapShot Pulse* for even further dose reduction in cardiac exams.

Optidose*

Optidose technology adds further dose reduction capabilities along the imaging chain. It features SmartTrack* dynamic collimation to limit penumbra and helical over-scanning, 3D automatic dose modulation, ECG dose modulation, and X-ray filtration for small to large patients.

Dose Check*

Dose Check

Dose Check alerts you when a pre-determined dose level will be exceeded. A prompt alerts your operator to the situation. The operator can then either change the scan or override the notification. All overrides are documented, providing an audit trail for future analysis. Learn more about Dose Check by downloading these helpful documents:

1. In clinical practice, the use of ASiR and Veo may reduce CT patient dose depending on the clinical task, patient size, anatomical location and clinical practice. A consultation with a radiologist and a physicist should be made to determine the appropriate dose to obtain diagnostic image quality for the particular clinical task.

2. In clinical practice, the actual level of LCD and spatial resolution improvement, and low signal artifact improvement may vary. Consult with a radiologist and a physicist.

Advanced Visualization

Advanced Visualization
